Oddball Glitch...

Okay, this morning, I hatched my Forest Lord with a random Judgement pet. I got a Jade Egg, and when I moused over it, it showed Ominous Scarecrow, which means it will be a Crop Watcher pet... This hatch was supposed to result in Astral Judge with 1 'Mighty Judgement' Card at Baby.

I just acquired 1 'Charm of the Black Pearl' from Harek the Lean. This is a Crafted Necklace that contains the new Death Level 35 spell 'Dark Pact'.

Will have much more to report in the coming days :)

DARK PACT is much more Viable than I had originally given this Balance Blade credit for! Dark Pact can be used by a death wizard to give an ALLY the 30% boost, not just themselves. the Amulet gives a 35% balance blade boost!

April Producer's Letter

Here's the Producer's Letter from Wizard101's Main Site!

My dear Wizards,

So the cat’s out of the bag! Our next release will include a new area called Wintertusk, a place that completes the story begun in Grizzleheim. You knew there had to be more coming, right? We can’t just leave things on a cliffhanger like that. There will be wolves, ravens, and bears, as you'd expect, but your character will encounter some other epic bad guys too. You won’t be alone, though: in Wintertusk your Wizard will finally meet Grandmother Raven. She should be a great aid to you as your character encounters mysteries and challenges across the Spiral.

That’s not all though! We’re also proud to announce that we’re going to be releasing something hugely requested by the Wizard101 community: high level quest pets! You may have wondered why we asked about pets on Feedback Friday a while ago... that’s the reason! We’re fired up for Wizards to discover new companions to aid you in your journeys throughout the Spiral. They won’t be easy to obtain… but the spoils will be worth the effort!

Another exciting new feature is new and upgraded spells. With Celestia, we gave you some visually super cool epic spells, and now we’re adding more toys for your arsenal. With our new content, we allow your Wizard's other spells to gain in power as well. Your Wizard will be able to “upgrade” one existing spell and will get something new. Your Wizard must be level 58 to get these quests. It won’t be as easy as walking up to a trainer, but you should find that your time obtaining them has been well spent.

With many of the new additions to the game this update, we want to make sure Wizards already at Legendary status have a meaningful way to increase their powers. Each school will have their own, but here are some examples. Balance Wizards, we found some ancient and powerful magic to provide you a new, shiny, and more powerful healing over time spell! Storm Wizards, you’ll find some awesome damage at your disposal, but with great capability comes great danger. Speaking of such things, you’ll also find a new area with the toughest combat yet, but the spoils will most certainly befit the difficulty. These challenges will be presented to our most powerful Wizards. If you fall into that category, let me just say… I hope you’re up for the challenge!

Have you wondered what became of Crab Alley? What happened after the Crab folk went on tour with Selena Gomez? You won’t have to wait too long to find out, get ready to explore our newly expanded Crab Alley! It will be right up your alley if your Wizard is around level 10-15.

There is so much more I just can’t talk about yet! We have a huge list of changes coming out with this next release, and there’s a lot more to come out in the months to come. My next letter should be full of juicy gossip! I’m burning with excitement about the features in this update, and since a lot of the features are hot topics on the message boards, I think you'll feel the heat of excitement as well!

Hmmm... A new shiny Heal over Time spell... maybe heal all?

The new Storm Spell has 3 different possibilities:
1 - Immolate-Like storm spell
2 - Heavy storm damage, then a Feint-like trap on self
3 - Heavy storm damage, then Stun self

I'm wondering if these are the UPGRADED spells, or if we can choose what spell of ours to upgrade... This update will be EPIC.

Mega Mount Givaway Week!

KingsIsle is giving away a grand total of 225 mounts through 15 Fansites over the course of the next 7 days. KingsIsle Entertainment is a wonderful company, but this makes me nervous as to what the 'Special' surprise is going to be... I really hope it isn't Official Mount Racing. If we can now compete in Mounted Duels, that's one thing, and if mounts can be trained like pets, that's another... But really, we don't need more PVP options at the moment.

New Hybrids!?

**UPDATED INFORMATION** Apparently all the Level 48 Pets can be used to create the Hybrid Holiday Crowns Pets.

Okay, so the buzz around the game has all been about Wintertusk as well as the discovery of 2 new Hatchery Hybrids. Apparently, according to information from THE PET MASTER, Frank Howard told him at PAX that these new Hybrids are actually the new Holiday pets, and there are 6 or 7 of them Total. Considering there are 6 WC pets, I'd probably say there would be 6 total.

Unicorn + L48 Pet = Nightmare (Black horse, flaming hooves, mane, and tail)

Dragon + L48 Pet = Pet Egg (egg w/ Duck feet)

Imp + L48 Pet = ???

Piggle + L48 Pet = ???

Bloodbat + L48 Pet = ???

Firecat + L48 Pet = Fire Beetle? (Pyromancer Johnathon's info, but no Pict)

Nightmare is replacing Black Cat this Halloween, according to Pet Master, and Pet Egg should be available from the Easter vendor. One of these hybrids is supposed to be a 4th of July style pet, and rumors abound about a Patriotic Leprechaun, so I'm thinking Stormzilla or Hydra + Imp.

Okay, with the new Test Realm, we've got the Baconator Costume, a Level 55+ Crowns outfit (12,500 Crowns). On top of that, we've got a new wand called the Lifeforce Blade, a Level 55+ Crowns wand (5,000 Crowns).



Combined with my Sea Dragon, Tyson, my stats are:



All that I need to do is spend another 300 crowns to stitch it to something nice looking! Over all, 17,800 Crowns and I'll be set :D

Update from Wizard101 Support on Dating

This was my email to them:

Attached is J Todd Coleman's statement on Facebook that Dating in Game is a violation of the Code of Conduct and should be reported. I have heard from others that J Todd Coleman is mistaken. Can you please correct this confusion for me? Thank you very much, and I hope for a speedy resolution of this confusion.

I know that according to Internet Safety Standards dating in games such as Wizard101 (which have a predominant amount of people under the age of 15, and many children convincing their parents to let them have open chat even if they aren't 18 (or even 15)) where you cannot know the age of the other person are by and far considered Child Predatory in nature and should not be allowed. Please clear this issue up. Thank you for your time.

As with many things in life, a definitive line can be hard to define. "Does anyone need a girl/boy?" by itself is not offensive, nor does it do harm. Conversation beyond that is what becomes potentially reportable. As an adult, we presume you can make that distinction and report where/as appropriate. These in-game reports are just one of the tools available to us to monitor and enforce appropriate behaviors in Wizard101.

Shocks of the Trials

Mithraya just shocked me by using Rebirth! First time in CL I've seen an enemy use Rebirth! I've seen Storm Lords, Frost Giants, Orthrus, Fire Dragon, Power Nova, and Scarecrows, but never before today have I seen a Celestian use Rebirth!
